Special Guests

Special Guests will be appearing at all Greater Sudbury Public Library locations in July and August.  Read on to learn more about each show and make sure you're in the audience when your favourites arrive!

July 5 - 9 :

Peter Mennie's Sorcery Safari
A jungle-sized collection of magic and fun for the 2010 TD Summer Reading Club featuring the Monkey Monte Game Show, the Deja Zoo Guessing Game, The Air-igami Jungle Balloon Show and starring everyone in the audience!






July 12 - 16 : 

Reptile Rainforest
The Reptile Rainforest is an education-based commercial reptile breeding company from Kemptville, Ontario. They specialize in providing live reptile shows for all events, suitable for all ages. The Reptile Rainforest Roadshow TM presents a unique opportunity for attendees to get up close and personal with various misunderstood creatures, such as lizards, turtles, frogs, scorpions, and of course, snakes. All in a safe, and controlled situation!
Over the past 14 years, owner Darren Boyd and his partner Josée Lavoie have traveled Ontario delivering exciting, educational and interactive presentations - But everybody will agree - the ANIMALS are the REAL stars of the show!

 


July 19 - 23 :

Greggio!
Greggio! brings kids' music back to its roots... this time, to the roots of the jungle!
With guitar and banjo in hand, we'll travel through song through the palm trees to hear stories of bouncing monkeys, exoting frogs and rain forests of the imagination. Kids of all ages will enjoy Greggio!'s improvised antics, as he will equally enjoy the young audience participating in every song, both in French and English. And don't worry, the Earth-lovin' kid-friendly musician will be sure to bring along his famous tickle trunk of recycled instruments, shakers, whistles and all!



July 26 - 30 :

Mary Lambert
Mary Lambert is energetic, enthusiastic and her audience always has a blast, regardless of age!














August 3 - 5 : Jacquot and Tante Caroline*
Jacquot's concert is a fun celebration of French, while Tante Caroline uses puppets, costumes and songs to have fun through storytelling - in French and English.

Shari and Jerry
Their exciting concerts inspire participation from beginning to end, with dance contests, prizes, original songs, and old favourite sing-a-longs.












August 16 - 20 :

The Doug Barr Children's Show
Badies and Gentleboys! Lions! Tigers and Pusseycats! Welcome to The Doug Barr Children's Show! A funtastic, 45 minute musical-comedy concert to tickle everything from your toes right up to the leetle smiles on your faces. Hey! What's that sound coming from inside his Circus Guitar? how do we get those little Trucks, Trucks, Trucks off our backs? Where is Jeffrey's Talking Jacket hiding and who are those little people who can only speak two words? Why, it's the Ya Rights! Schools, Libraries, Day Cares and Festivals have all enjoyed the hilarious antics, songcraft, interaction and wordplay of Doug and his guitar. Have you? C'mon out to the Summer Reading Club and... Sing!
